Part 2: The Dental Revolution
Part 2: Dental “Revolution”
In part 1 of my article discussing the changes that have occurred in dental care, I discussed the manner in which I have been able to help patients beyond their teeth, assisting in relieving TMJ pain, cervical pain, and posture.
The 2nd area where we have been able to further our patients overall health is by helping them with periodontal disease. It is well documented that poor periodontal health has many effects on the systemic aspects of individuals. In general, this means that it effects the circulatory system and spreads bacteria from the gums to the rest of the body.
Our office is very thorough in diagnosing, treating, and following up on all aspects of this disease as patients want to keep their teeth and improve their overall health. In fact, we receive many referrals from other doctors, including those from MD Anderson, for diagnosis and treatment of periodontal diseases prior to their treating patients for cancer.
The advanced methods of treatment allow our office to treat most of these cases non-surgically (non-surgical periodontal disease treatment). Please call our office if you have any questions regarding your dental health or periodontal diseases, Ronald W.
